Links that pull their weight

Gymshark hits hard everywhere it shows up, loud and stripped-back, built for people who train first. Share one of its links, though, and that force drops off. Collection pages ship no share image at all, and the homepage still runs a static banner from 2019, so links land blank or years out of date. So we build a bold, on-brand card for every page, automatically, from what's already on it, so a shared link hits as hard as the brand.

The Gymshark look

Gymshark website

Ben Francis started Gymshark in 2012, screen-printing gym kit at home in the West Midlands, and grew it into a billion-pound activewear label that sells performance training wear on timed drops that sell out in minutes, and has extended from apparel into physical retail with its first gym in Miami. The identity has stayed strictly monochrome the whole way up, black and white with almost no third colour, so rather than invent our own we built the card straight from theirs, reading the heavy Montserrat type, the black-and-white palette, and the GYMSHARK combi lockup right off the page.

What we built

The homepage is Gymshark’s most-shared link, and it still goes out as a static banner from 2019, one fixed 1200×1200 square sent on every share and years behind the current look. Our card builds a fresh one live from the page, the real GYMSHARK combi lockup flipped white on a near-black ground, cut to the shape a feed actually shows, so the front door shares as current as the rest of the brand.

What we built

The leggings collection carries no share image at all today, so this is the first one those links have ever had. Our card builds it live from the page, reading the actual products on the grid and laying the first four into a hard-edged mosaic, so the preview shows what’s in the collection right now instead of anything set once and forgotten. Because a wall of black leggings reads near-identical head-on, it alternates the view, front shot then hover shot, and skips any photo it has already placed, so the four tiles land as a varied set rather than the same shot four times, then loads a lighter card-sized version of each so the preview paints fast. The collection name sits big in uppercase on black down the left, the mosaic runs down the right as disciplined and high-contrast as a Gymshark campaign grid, and the white combi lockup anchors the top corner. If one image fails it drops to a clean studio-grey tile, and if a collection ever comes back empty the card falls back to the same stark centered GYMSHARK lockup the homepage leads with.

What we built

The product page already shares its own studio photo, but at 1692×2018 it goes out as a tall portrait that a feed crops through the middle. Our card sets that same shot into the share frame properly, on the body in its own studio-grey panel the way Gymshark shoots its kit, with the name and price beside it in the brand’s heavy uppercase. The price reads as big, plain white type, whole dollars with no cents and no pill, exactly how Gymshark prints it on the page, and the star rating shows only when the page actually carries one. The layout reads the photo’s shape, so a tall on-model shot keeps its own panel while a wide or square one fills the frame with the type over a dark scrim, and nothing gets decapitated. If a product sells out and its photo drops, the card falls back to a clean branded grey panel instead of a broken image, so a delisted link still shares as something intentional.

What we built

A post already shares its own editorial hero, but at 3360×3360 and 3.5 MB it goes out as a heavy square that loads slow and crops square in the feed. Our card sets that same hero into the share frame at a sensible weight, running it full-bleed with the white GYMSHARK logo pinned top-left and the headline set large across the middle over a dark, left-weighted scrim that keeps the type readable against the photo, so a link to any Gymshark Central story shares as that story, with its own photo and its own title, reading like the cover of a training feature. If a post has no usable image, the card falls back to the same near-black ground and faint shark-fin the homepage uses rather than an empty frame.
