The link that won't fade

Topicals makes bold, clinical skincare for flare-ups, dark spots, and the conditions its customers actually live with. Most of its pages still share with no preview image, so we built a live share card for every one, carrying the Topicals wordmark, the real product, and its price, and refreshing itself whenever the page changes.

Paste any mytopicals.com link. Every Topicals page gets its own card, drawn from that page and ready to share.

Topicals makes skincare for flare-ups. The brand built its name on Faded, a serum for dark spots and discoloration, and on talking about chronic skin the way its customers do, out loud and without the shame.

That confidence runs through all of mytopicals.com. The one place it hasn’t reached yet is the small preview image that shows up when someone shares a Topicals link: the homepage and collections send no image at all, and a product link sends the raw packaging shot as a tall square. It is the easiest kind of gap to close.

So we built a share card for every page, drawn from the page itself and set in the Topicals wordmark and their red. Each one renders live, so a shared link carries the current product, name, and price, and refreshes on its own whenever the page changes.

The Topicals look

Topicals website

Topicals is a Los Angeles skincare brand built on Faded, its serum for dark spots and discoloration, and on a push to destigmatize the chronic skin conditions its customers live with. It raised a $10M Series A led by CAVU with Marcy Venture Partners and Kelly Rowland, sells through Sephora, and talks to a young audience in a voice that is direct and unbothered. That voice is right there in the design: a heavy grotesque wordmark set in Chalet, a bright signature red in flat blocks and product badges, and a lot of white space with the packaging doing the talking. We built the card out of those same parts, so a shared Topicals link looks like it came from Topicals.

What we built

Share the Topicals homepage today and there is no image for the feed to show, so this is the first preview it has ever had. We built it the way Topicals builds its own masthead: the full TOPICALS wordmark knocked out in white on the brand’s red, with the Skincare for Flare-Ups line beneath it read straight from the page. Because the card renders on demand, whatever the homepage is leading with reaches every share on its own, with no image to export or swap by hand.

What we built

Faded’s page already has a lovely shot of the tube, but it reaches a shared link as a 3,812 by 3,501 square, so the feed crops the cap and base to force it into a wide preview. Our card reads that same photo off the page and sets it into the share frame at the right size, beside the product’s real name and its $38 price, in the Topicals wordmark on white. Point it at any product and it redraws itself, the Faded serum, a Slick Salve, a Like Butter tub, each with its own photo and price, so the preview is always the product that is actually on the page.

What we built

Share Topicals’ hyperpigmentation edit and the link arrives with no image at all. Our card gives the collection its first one: its own name set large in the Topicals grotesque, the collection’s description beneath it, on the clean white the site uses for its grids. Open a different edit, acne or body care, and the card rewrites itself to that collection, so every category can be shared as itself instead of as nothing.
